Q: Are you a State Licensed Facility?
A: Yes, all of our homes are licensed just like the large facilities!
Q: Can you keep Residents from wandering off?
A: Yes, we have safeguards in place! Our homes are not only comfortable, but they’re also equipped with secure entrances and exits.
Q: Do you have a special way to deal with sundowning?
A: Yes, we understand each resident is unique in this journey. Due to our small size, our staff are able to become much more familiar with the backgrounds of each Resident, so we take preventive steps to minimize the occurrence of such situations.
Q: Do you have activities for limited attention spans?
A: Yes, we conduct several activities for our Residents. Our staff plan out activities keeping in mind the individual preferences of the Residents. We specifically love our pet and music therapy days!
Q: Are your caregivers specifically trained to work with dementia?
A: Yes, all of our staff is specifically trained to provide care for those living with dementia, many of which have several years of experience! However, just like our CORE values state, we must constantly be learning and growing as each resident we encounter is so very different! We love the Teepa Snow training techniques to equip our staff!
Q: Can the Residents help with cooking, gardening, and housework?
A: Yes, Residents are welcome to help with cooking, gardening, and housework provided they are able to do so.
Q: Do you take into account each Resident’s past profession, hobbies, etc.?
A: Yes. During admission, all past details of Residents are taken into account as this helps us to provide personalized care and attention to Residents. We also encourage you to decorate their room with items that may still bring them joy. Our ‘Accomplished Hands’ posters are provided upon move in to showcase all of the amazing things our Residents have done in their lives!
Q: Will my loved ones feel safe, calm, and at home here?
A: Absolutely! That’s what we’re here for. We have seen over and over how the small environment helps with all of these things. With fewer staff to get to know and fewer residents living with them it helps to ensure that they are at peace and their loved ones have a sense of security.
Q: Can Residents stay until the end of life?
A: Yes, it is our goal to care for your loved one, in their same familiar setting, continuing to be cared for by those that love them, until the end of life in conjunction with Hospice providers.
