Legato Living: Personalized, Home-Like Dementia Care for Seniors

Our Story

Legato Living began with a granddaughter’s love and a vision for something better. Growing up, Erin witnessed her grandfather’s care in different settings, sparking a lifelong passion for working with older adults. She knew senior living could be more than just facilities—it could be home.

Determined to make an impact, Erin worked in skilled nursing and assisted living, eventually stepping into her first leadership role. She was hired as the sixth administrator in six years—a position many doubted she would last in. But she proved them wrong. She didn’t just stay; she thrived.

Still, Erin wanted to do things on her own terms. In 2015, she partnered with her mother, Jill, a dedicated RN, and together, they operated residential homes in Omaha, NE where residents weren’t just cared for; they were known, valued, and loved.

As their homes filled with warmth and life, Erin and Jill saw an opportunity to expand their mission. But they didn’t want to rely on managers who might come and go—they wanted owners who would be just as invested as they were. In 2019, Erin and Brett Render partnered with Jerod Evanich and Dustin Distefano, and Legato Living was born, growing through franchising to bring their personalized approach to even more families.

Today, Legato Living offers something truly different—a place where seniors live in real homes with local owners who are hands-on and deeply committed. Because when facing one of life’s most emotional transitions, families deserve not just a place for their loved ones to live, but a place where they truly belong.

About Us

For those living with dementia, the size of the care environment does matter. Large group settings can be over-stimulating and often overwhelming for those living with the confusion of dementia. Residents at Legato Living can maintain the lifestyle they were accustomed to while sharing all the amenities and comforts of a single-family residential home. Our Residents receive individualized care in large ranch-style homes. We look forward to meeting you!
